Introduction ▲ |
The Society has run an Annual Wargame Show for many years. The show caters for exisiting wargamers and hopes also to
showcase the hobby to a wider public audience. We have in the past recruited new members after one of our shows.
The Society operates a well-stocked Bring and Buy, details of which can be found below.
We aim to have a wide variety of traders from the wargaming hobby, as well as about a dozen games, these being split
between Participation and Demonstration games. A Participation game allows visitors to take part in an ongoing game, and
we encourage visiting Societies to offer such games when they book to come to Cavalier.
A list of traders and games will appear here in due course after we have contacted our regulars and have confirmation
that they will be coming
The link below will take you to a separate page where you will find a list of traders who are signed up for the show, as
well as the games being presented by visiting Clubs and Societies. We leave the list of participants on display until
the next show, as their contact details may be useful.
pposite direction. It is also possible to pay in advance online.

Venue ▲ |
Cavalier is held at The Angel Centre, Angel Lane, Tonbridge, Kent TN9 1SF.
The Angel Centre is 5 minutes on foot from Tonbridge Station and also benefits from being easily accessible. The Centre
has step-free access with a lift to the upper floor where the refreshment area is located.
Catering is provided by Tandem Catering of Sevenoaks offering
hot and cold snacks and drinks. The upstairs area is also a good spot to go and examine your new purchases in comfort.
|
Opening Times ▲ |
The show opens at 10.00 and closes at 16.00
|
Photography ▲ |
Photography is permitted in areas which have been hired by TWWS for the show. The Society arranges for a global photo
permit with the Centre Management.
|
Directions ▲ |
A set of directions and maps to get to the Angel Centre can be downloaded from the link below. The first 4 pages zoom in
from the wider area to Tonbridge town. Page 5 is a sketch map of the immediate area round the Centre and is also useful
for visitors arriving by rail or on foot. Page 6 shows the car parks, and the Long Stay car parks are specifically
indicated. Note that this also shows an arrow pointing to the correct location of part of Sovereign Way.
There is also a link to Google Maps which may be useful.

Parking ▲ |
Since August 2024 there is no longer free parking on Sundays. There are three Long Stay car parks within 5 minutes walk
of the Angel Centre. There are also Short Stay car parks both in front of and behind the Angel Centre. The you can pay
for parking using the RingGo App, or using cash. Cash is the recommended option but the machines only take coins. They
do not accept card payment. the following link will show you all the car parks in the borough. Zoom in and you will find
the Angel Cemtre with a green pin. Clicking on the car park links will show you the tariffs applicable at each.
An additional option which is also available is to use the nearby Station Car Park.
In this car park you should use the open air area to the left as you go up the access ramp, not the
multi-story to the right.
This is operated by APCOA and has a cheap all day price at the weekend. Payment can be made by scanning a QR code at the
car park, and paying online using your phone. Alternatively go to the ticket office on the station, though this would
mean walking in the opposite direction. It is also possible to pay in advance online.

Bring and Buy ▲ |
Things you need to know...
Like many other clubs, we have suffered from pilferage from the B&B, which is why this feature is regrettably vanishing
from many shows. TWWS considered various methods of reducing the risks to both parties, and these have been incorporated
in our Bring and Buy Conditions which you can download below. In particular...
- The minimum price you should charge is £1.00 and prices should be in multiples of whole £££’s only.
- You may only use a Bring and Buy form issued by us, either by email in advance or on the day.
- There are some items that we will no longer accept. (These are shown on the Bring and Buy document, however they
could be DONATED to the Combat Stress Stand.)
- Please also understand that we are unable to accept any liability for loss. With this in mind we urge you to read
the Bring and Buy conditions, regarding items that we regard as having a "high risk" of pilferage.
Methods of Payment on the Bring and Buy stand
Please be aware that we operate the Bring and Buy on a strictly "Cash Only" basis. We do not accept card payments or
personal cheques. There are many cash machines in the area, the closest being behind Sainsbury's or at the Santander
Bank. Both are less than 5 minutes from the venue. Please ask for directions if necessary.
Bring and Buy Forms
It is recommended that you obtain Bring and Buy Forms in advance of the show. Each form has space for 10 items. You can
order forms by sending an email to the address shown below, and you will be sent one or more pre-numbered PDF forms.
You have a CHOICE of how you can use the form. You can use it…
- Either as an INTERACTIVE form which you can fill out using your PC at home, and print off for the day.
- Or a MANUAL form which uses old fashioned pen and ink.
Bring and Buy forms can be ordered by using the email address shown below. You can order forms already, and we are
sending out forms from the start of October 2024.
Please only use one of the addresses shown below for Bring and Buy forms; they both end up in the same place. If you
need any other information regarding Cavalier you should use the address shown above under Trader Information.
OR
Please be aware that some email packages do not necessarily work happily with the underlying 'mailto:' coding so it is
often easier to copy the above email address and paste it into the 'To:' field in your Email package.
This email address is actively monitored before Cavalier, when forms are ready to be issued, until midnight on the
Friday immediately preceding the show, after which time forms cannot be issued online because the person concerned is
involved in preparing the venue. After the show the email address is monitored again one month after the show, in case
there are any problems that need to be resolved.

Conditions ▲ |
The Bring and Buy Conditions will be updated for 2026 and will be available during 2025. We recommend that you look at
these beforehand, and they will be here to be downloaded.
